HSC 2022: Outstanding year for CCGS students

CCGS Year 12's receive 2022 HSC Results

Central Coast 口爆视频 has again ranked in the Top 100 NSW schools based on this year鈥檚 HSC results. This is the ninth successive year the school has made it onto this elite list. 

Headmaster Bill Low said, 鈥淎s a non-selective school, Central Coast 口爆视频 consistently achieves excellent results - evidence of our desire that all students reach their full academic potential and our strong commitment to quality teaching and continual improvement.

鈥淎 number of students achieved remarkable results. These include two students - Phoebe Britten and Isabel Fanning - who achieved a Band 6 result in 10 or more units placing them on the All Rounders list.

鈥淭hree students achieved a very high level in their individual subjects. Phoebe Britten, Amber Knight and Talon Woodward achieved a top ten place in an HSC course.
Phoebe鈥檚 hard work across all subjects has also resulted in her named our 2022 Dux with an ATAR of 99.25.

鈥淥ther notable individual achievements include Jack Li who ranked equal first, receiving full marks in Music Extension and Nell Hudson who ranked 13th in Science Extension in the state. 

鈥淭oday鈥檚 results are a tribute to our students鈥 individual and collective hard work. Their resilience, focus and solidarity are a lesson for us all. The whole school community admires them for the way they have managed a difficult few years.鈥 

Results at a glance

  • CCGS ranked 78 out of approximately 800 schools
  • Almost 10% of students achieved an ATAR of 95+
  • 22% of students achieved an ATAR of 90+
  • 50% of students achieved an ATAR of 80+
  • 58% of all exams sat resulted in a Band 5 or 6
  • 45% of CCGS students were recognised on the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Distinguished Achievers list for achieving a Band 6 in one or more of their subjects
  • 15 HSC Major Work nominations
  • Ninth successive year listed as a Top 100 school

We鈥檙e very proud of the collective and individual achievements of our students, some of which include:

Phoebe Britten named Dux of CCGS

  • Phoebe Britten and Isabel Fanning were honoured by inclusion in the NESA All Rounders list for achieving Band 6 in 10 or more units of study. 
  • Phoebe Britten (Society and Culture), Amber Knight (Business Studies) and Talon Woodward (Society and Culture) were listed in the Top Achievers list achieving one of the highest places in an HSC course in the state.
  • In Music Extension, Jack Li ranked equal first, receiving full marks in the course.
  • In Science Extension, Nell Hudson ranked 13th in the state and equal 20th in Biology.
  • In Society and Culture, Talon Woodward was awarded a Distinction for his Personal Interest Project.

HSC Major Work nominations recognised by NESA

  • Dance 鈥 Isabel Fanning (Major Study Performance and Core Performance), Tallulah Richmond (Major Study Performance and Core Performance), Ruby Ko (Major Study Dance Film, Core Composition and Core Performance) and Mia Pine (Core Performance) for Callback.
  • Drama 鈥 Rina Amami and Emma Parmeter for OnSTAGE - excellence in Individual Drama performances
  • Music 鈥 Rina Amami and Abigail Gracia (Music 1), and Jack Li (Music 2 and Music Extension) for ENCORE.
  • Industrial Technology - Oscar Lindsay received a nomination for InTech.

Head of Senior College, Mrs Janine Comber applauded students for their achievements across all subject areas and reflected on the year. 

鈥淚 am proud of today鈥檚 academic results, but I am just as proud of what our students have brought to broader school life. Through their time at CCGS, they have shown determination, maturity and a sense of fun. They have been leaders, mentors, sportspeople, performers, community organisers and ambassadors.

鈥淚t鈥檚 this balanced education and the soft skills it fosters that will equip them for taking their place in the wider world. We wish them the very best for the future.鈥

85% of CCGS students have already received university degree offers. Today鈥檚 results are sure to offer more choice and opportunity.
